Oral Health Tips for Your Family

At HootSmile Family Dentistry, we believe your whole family should have a reliable, fun and professional dental partner to keep you happy and healthy. You’re already a role model for your kids—if they see you taking great care of your teeth they’ll want to do the same!

Your baby’s first visit to the dentist should be for an assessment within six months of the eruption of the first tooth or by one year of age. The goal is to have your child see your dentist before there are any problems with his or her teeth.

Did you know? The average toothbrush has 2,000 bristles.

Developing great oral hygiene habits with your children now will save time, money and possibly pain in the future, resulting in a lifetime of good oral health.

Make tooth-brushing a fun, bonding experience with your children and remember, it’s all about the number two: brush your teeth for at least two minutes, at least two times a day and see your dentist at least twice a year.

You can floss your child’s teeth for them; they may not have the manual dexterity to do it themselves until they are about eight years old.

At HootSmile Family Dentistry, our team can help educate and guide you to optimal oral health. Book an appointment today.
